Do I need an expensive projector?

What size projector do I need?
Any projector that throws an image the width of your window works. Look for at least a few thousand lumens for a window facing a lit street, and place it close enough to fill the fabric. The build pages list specific models.
Are the video loops free?
Yes. Every loop on this site is free to download and use for your own display. No subscription, no licence fee. Each build page has a download button.
Can I make my own projection videos with AI?
Yes, and that is the point. Each build page shows the exact prompt used, plus a reusable template to hand to Claude or ChatGPT. The key ingredients are a black background, bold high-contrast silhouettes, simple motion, no text, and a seamless loop.
Do I need to pay for a content subscription to do this?
No. You need a projector, a sheet or sheer curtain, and something to play a file on loop. The video itself can be AI-generated from a written prompt, so there is no stock-footage or subscription cost.
How much does a whole build cost?

Run fog machines outdoors and test them before the night, because they set off smoke alarms. Keep cables taped down along any path guests walk, and never block ventilation around a projector.
